I am going to attending Python Toronto June Meetup.

Two painted canvases leaning against a graffiti-covered brick wall in a dim alley at night. The larger central canvas is a black ink-and-charcoal drawing on a cream ground: elongated, sketchy human profiles and faces, with one figure in a coat holding a cigarette near a tiny orange figure perched on the hand. Below the image it's titled "BIDDING WAR," dated "2 JUNE 2026," and signed "GRAF ALLEY" with a heart and an artist's signature. A smaller canvas to the left, in the same scratchy style, shows two faces and reads "SOLVE & RASOLUTE." Behind them the wall is covered in red, teal, and grey graffiti, including a snarling wolf and the word "RASCAL" in red. On the concrete in the foreground, handwriting reads "LIFE & DEATH ARE THINGS YOU JUST DO WHEN YOU'RE BORED," and beside a small sketch, "YOU CAN'T TAKE THIS ONE" with an arrow. — undefined - 2 Jun, 2026 at 11:46 PM

Just finished watching Mile End Kicks, made me very nostalgic for the early 2010s.

Mile End Kicks

A hand-lettered cardboard sign staked into a grassy curb strip. The top reads "DOG LIBRARY" in colored block capitals; beneath it, smaller handwritten text says "TAKE A STICK / LEAVE A STICK (OPTIONAL)." A few sticks lie scattered in the grass below the sign. A sidewalk runs along the left, and a young staked tree sits in a mulch bed to the right. — undefined - 2 Jun, 2026 at 4:31 PM

Mechanical Pencil is a collection of illustrated tear-downs of everyday products by Bryan Macomber. The Zippo tear-down is particularly impressive.

A plastic-wrapped flyer taped to a pole, headed "Good Friends Market," reading "GARAGE SALE — May 30th, 6 Florence St, 9AM–4:20PM. Lots of high quality GOODS for sale.. that's gangster talk for vintage clothes, knick knacks, video games, collectibles etc!" A quiet street with a bike lane sits behind it. — Garage Sale - May 30th - Lots of high quality GOODS for sale... that's gangster talk for vintage clothes, knick knacks, video games, collectibles etc!

A yellow sticker wrapped around a city utility pole reading "BRAIN ON PLANT — Rework Gallery, 1450 Dundas Street West — arthouse of reworked clothes, design & culture — Made in Toronto — slow fashion, fast life — @brainonplants — brainonplants.com." A sunny Toronto street is blurred behind it. — Brain on Plant - 1 Jun, 2026 at 5:42 PM

I created my first NPM pcakge today for astro-jsonfeed, my Astro utility for genreating a JSON Feed. Check it out https://www.npmjs.com/package/astro-jsonfeed.

I started working on an Astro utility to generate a JSON Feed for blogs, changelogs, or any chronological content. It’s called astro-jsonfeed (super original, I know).

Doug MacDowell writes about drawing data visualisations completely by hand.

“What are you working on these days?”
“Data visualizations.” I told him.
“Ah, you using algorithms, machine learning, cloud computing, things like that?”
“No.” I said. “I’m just trying to draw a line graph.”

My neighbor thought I was getting into some complex sh**. But what’s been more interesting to me lately than using […] is learning to draw data by hand. 50 Hours to Draw Some Lines is about spending more than a week on something that software can accomplish in 20 minutes - and a catalog of resources and methods acquired along the way.
